More than 15,000 individuals, including researchers and investigators, nurses, pharmacists, clinical and imaging research associates, and cancer research advocates, participate in the ECOG-ACRIN Cancer Research Group (ECOG-ACRIN).

Researchers and Investigators

ECOG-ACRIN researchers and investigators have broad experience in clinical research disciplines and translational science. In clinical research, therapeutic and imaging disciplines include medical, surgical, and radiation oncology; hematology; radiology; nuclear medicine; internal medicine; and preventive medicine. In translational science, disciplines include laboratory-based pathology, genetics, molecular biology, and experimental imaging. Related disciplines include statistics, bioinformatics, clinical psychology and behavioral sciences, epidemiology, and health services.

Other Clinical Trial Professionals

Nurses, pharmacists, clinical and imaging research associates, and other research personnel participate in the Group through their institution’s membership. These individuals, who work under the guidance of investigators, play an important research support role that helps to ensure the conduct of high-quality Group research.

Cancer Research Advocates

Cancer research advocates serve independently and voluntarily to help shape Group disease committee research agendas. These individuals, many of whom are cancer survivors, provide insights from the patient perspective during the protocol development process, advocate for the integration of patient-reported outcomes in trials, coordinate patient focus groups to obtain feedback for trial-specific issues, promote efforts to increase the participation of underserved populations in clinical trials, and participate in many other Group activities.
