Take Action Today: Rally for Medical Research
Today marks the 2025 Rally for Medical Research! Since its launch by the American Association for Cancer Research in 2013, the Rally has brought together patients, survivors, researchers, clinicians, and advocates to urge Congress to make funding for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) a national priority.
As part of the ECOG-ACRIN Cancer Research Group community, you know firsthand the impact of NIH investment. NIH funding fuels lifesaving discoveries, strengthens our economy, and ensures that the US remains a global leader in medical progress.
Regarding our work in cancer research, more than 500,000 patients nationwide are currently receiving active therapy or follow-up care through National Clinical Trials Network (NCTN) studies. And over the past four decades, NCTN trials have extended life expectancy by an estimated 14.2 million yearsโat an average cost of just $326 per life-year gained. That is an extraordinary return on investment.
Today, we ask you to join us in urging Congress to sustain robust NIH funding. Hereโs how you can help:
Together, we can ensure continued progress against cancer and other diseases.
