Advancement for Women

The Task Force on Advancement for Women was established in mid-2021 to increase the representation of women across the ECOG-ACRIN Cancer Research Group (ECOG-ACRIN). Its members work to improve the process for the advancement of women in the Group at every stage, through a lens of opportunity.

Among its goals:

  • Ensure that women feel included and supported, have clear pathways to leadership roles, and appointments are made
  • Pursue parity for women in ECOG-ACRIN leadership, membership, and scientific activities
  • Facilitate active mentorship and sponsorship from committee chairs and principal investigators
  • Assure transparent processes across all of the Group's diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives

The long-term goal of the task force is to safeguard a level playing field on which all members of ECOG-ACRIN feel included and have the opportunity to develop into the leaders of the future.

The Task Force initiated the Remarkable Mentor to Women in Oncology Award in early 2023.
